Dan McNeil was the first competitor to cross the finish line in Bannerman Park Sunday for the 86th annual Tely 10 Mile Road Race, and Lisa Harvey was the first female runner to finish the race.

The unofficial time for McNeil was 51:10. Harvey's time was unofficial just over 60 minutes according to a Telegram reporter at the finish line.

Finishing second amongst the men was John Angelopolous, followed by Brent Addissonin third and Ryan Brockerville in fourth.

Lisa Shepard-Collins finished second amongst female competitors, and Alison Walsh placed third.

Thousands of runners are descending on Paradise this morning for the start of the 86th annual Tely 10 Mile Road Race, organized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association.

Wheelchair athletes are set to begin running at 7:55 a.m., while others registered to take part in Sunday's race will move from the starting line five minutes later.

    I want to let all the spectators know how much they were a great support for running the Tely for the first time. People had told me that the spectators really keep you going. Thank you to the people who had the sprinklers and hoses. They were so much needed. Thank you to everyone that cheered us on. :)
