The Booth Memorial Braves defeated the St. Kevin’s Mavericks 38-23 to win the NLBA invitational high school girls’ basketball tier one tournament during the weekend.
Kathleen Dyer led the winners with 12 points. Janet Lee sank a dozen for the losers.
In the tier two final Mount Pearl No. 2 Senior High Huskies defeated Mobile Monarch 43-39. Jillian Lahey had 12 for Mount Pearl and Janine Coombs scored 14 for Mobile.
In the boys’ tournaments, Booth edge the Gonzaga Vikings 75-73 for the tier one title. Cole Long sank 30 points for the Braves. Christian Greenland had 21 for Gonzaga.
In the tier two final, the Holy Trinity Tigers defeated the Mobile Monarchs 46-28. Alex Peters scored 23 points the Tigers and Mobile’s Tristan Melvin had 12.
