the same Bronson Dawe that played for the CeeBees? If it is, it's good to see him still playing. He never got a change out here and deserved one

Dominated? All games have been close. The difference is coaching. The Caps play dirty, the eagles have finesse. Depends on which type of hockey you like. If the Caps continue to play with their sticks instead of their heads, it'll be over in 6.

Since the stick work stopped, the eagles have dominated. What a series

these players plays for nudding only pride, thats why the hockey is better. fellas in the provincial league tapping each other on the pads when the whistle blows. the only taps on the pads in this series is a two handed whack, thats why the hockey is better, the rivalry continues

McRibRoberts LOL. He certainly wouldn't be the first guy chosen for a race. Eagles will win this series. Had a bad first two games, but Dawe has turned the series around in net. Downer can only carry this team so far, the rest of the team weren't there for him last night. One goal isn't going to win you many games.

see you on the rail bud. Eagles got the series now i think. Since the caps can't use their sticks and they got two refs, they can't win. you can hear the caps coaches yelling all game, they did the same last night. nobody was spit on last night either by the goons they got. Mcrib was the worst on the ice.

the Caps team are the dirtiest team on the island. Their coach patting them on the back when they slash someone was hard to watch last night. Eagles played a clean game, all the caps coach did was argue with the refs all game. Good idea havnig 4 zebras out there, they needed it with the wood chopping they did. The Caps D, led by woodchopper extraoridinaire Druken was front row and center, spent the night in the box and the other Hamburgler McRibRoberts were non-existent to the Eagles speed. Should be a good series now, best of 3 left.

been saying it for years, best kept secret on the island is the avalon east league. best bargain for your buck too, $8 as opposed to $28 for the herder finals. looking forward to Friday

With No Ice camps game to see, and no game in Mt. Pearl I decided to head to the Jack Byrne Arena Friday night to take in an Avalon East game. It's been years since I saw one, the last one I saw was at Brother O'heir back in the 90's. Walking in through the door I was met by Joe Maynard......love him or hate him, he's still around. I found out after he's the General Manager of the Eagles team. After watching the 1st period friday night, I can honestly say that the game and the atmosphere in the rink far outweighed any game I saw at the Glacier or Mile One this year. The hatred that both of these teams had for each other was visible after the first whistle. The fans were in the game, the rail down by the beer gardens was full and they were very entertaining to say the least. The hockey, though a step behind the provincial league, was unreal. I'm not sure who the coaches are for the Eagles, but they are a great team that play a great system. The Ice Caps could take a lesson from their Powerplay, their passing was unbelievable. It was edge of your seat hockey from start to finish. The Eagles were more skilled, but the Caps team worked their butts off. I may be wrong, but I'd say the Eagles could give the provincial league mt. pearl Blades a game. Colin Abbott reffed a great game. I liked it so much I went to O'heir arena last night to see game 4. Another great game, the goalies were both awesome. Not sure why this guy Downer isn't playing for a team in the Provincial league. With the exception of maybe AJ Whiffen, he's the best I've seen this year. Oh, it isn't O'heir arena anymore either. Rogers Bussey, times have changed. I can't wait to see game 5 this Friday at one of the nicest arenas on the island - Jack Byrne Arena, ice caps or no ice caps. After hearing all year that the East league has gone downhill, I had cabin fever and headed down to the rink. I'm glad I did, This is entertaining hockey.
