3 Cheers shutout Junior Canadians
Jon Kelly hit his 55th and 56th career home runs Tuesday night in helping Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs to an 11-4, five-inning victory over NTV Hitmen in Molson St. John’s senior softball at Lion’s Park.
The victory improved the Bulldogs league-leading record to 8-0 on the season while NTV dropped to 1-6.
Kelly, who is in fifth place in career home runs, went four-for-four at the plate and drove in four runs for the winners.
Eric Healey picked up the victory with relief help from Blair Ezekiel. Sean Cadigan took the loss.
Shane O’Brien had three hits in three at bats for the winners and Shane Boland homered.
No one on the Hitmen had more han one hit.

Jason Hill pitched the five-inning win on a two-hitter with nine strikeouts. The game was called on the league’s seven-run mercy rule.
Ryan Kirk of the winners was the game’s top batter with three hits. Kirk and Colin Walsh homered.
Kris Abbott and Trevor Carew each added two hits for 3Cheers.
Starter Joel Whelan took the loss giving up seven runs on 11 hits over three innings of work. Colby Murphy finished up.
3Cheers improved to 4-4 on the season while Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians fell to 0-2.
