MJR hand Lafontaine first loss of season in intermediate softball

David Kennedy tossed the win on a five-hitter and helped his own cause with three hits, including a home run, as MJR Masonry edged previously undefeated Lafontaine Club Molson 4-3 in Molson St. John’s intermediate softball Wednesday night at Lions Park.

Adam Janes picked up the save.

Johnny O’Reilly (6IP, 4R, 9H, 2W, 10K) took the loss.

Matt Rogers had three hits in four at bats for the winners who improved to 2-2.

Joey Evely had two hits for the losers who lost their first game in five starts.

Power Conditioning Inc. 0 (5 innings)

Liam Myers tossed a two-hitter with six strikeouts to pick up the win over starter Issac Power. Matt Power finished up for the losers.

No batter in the game had more than one hit.

Storm has a 4-1 record, while Power Conditioning is winless in five starts.

The game was called after five innings on the league’s seven-run mercy rule.
