Boland helps Bulldogs remain undefeated in St. John's senior softball

Shane Boland homered and drove in five runs as the Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs improved to 9-0 on the season with a 7-0 victory Thursday over The Bigs in Molson St. John’s senior softball at Lions Park.

Sean Cleary (3.2IP, 2H. 2W, (K) tossed the win with relief help from Blair Ezekiel (2.1IP, 1H, 7K).

Jon Kelly had two hits in three at bats for  the winners.

Mark Power (5.1IP, 7R, &H, 3W, 4K) took the loss.

The game was called on the league’s seven-run mercy rule.

Ward Gosse picked up the win on a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts. It was his 174th career win which now puts him three victories behind all-time leader Ross Crocker.

Starter Colby Murphy (2IP, 7R, 7H, 2W, 1K). Nick Pittman (3IP, 8R, 9H, 3W, 2K) finished up.

Brad Ezekiel went three-for-three at the plate for the winners. Fergus Griffiths had three hits, including a home run.

The game was called after five innings on the league’s seven-run mercy rule.
