Defeat Lafontaine Club Molson 6-3 in final

Liam Myers fanned 14 batters as C.B.S. Storm doubled Lafontaine Club Molson 6-3 in eight innings to win the 17th annual Molson Swing Into Summer Softball Tournament Wednesday night at Lions Park.
Myers, who posted a 5-1 record with 59 strikeouts and a 2.45 ERA while batting .421, was chosen the tournament’s MVP.

Aaron Whelan had three hits in four at bats for the winners including a home run. Andrew Wade had two hits, including a homer.

Johnny O’Reilly, who had three hits, took the loss on a nine-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Ed Hefferan of Lafontaine Club Molson was the tournament’s top batter, going seven-for-13 for a .538 average.

Storm advanced to the final by beating Power Conditioning 6-2 in the semifinal.

Myers pitched the win over Matt Power.
