Felix Rogers' walk-off homer gave MJR Masonry a 5-4 win over C.B.C. Junior Canadians in Molson St. John’s intermediate softball Wednesday night at Lion’s park.

David Kennedy, in relief of starter Adam Janes, picked up the win.

Riley Kenny, who relieved starter Donny Cleary, took the loss.

Zack Hynes had two hits for the winners. Ryan Wall had a pair of hits for the losers.

 

C.B.S. Storm 8, Goulds 0

Matthew Mercer and Mike Gregory each homered to pace Storm.

Liam Myers tossed the win with relief help fro m Mark Kavanagh.

Kyle Abbott, Mercer, Kavanagh and Mike Gregory had two hits each for the winners.

BASEBALL

Provincial senior B tourney in Mount Pearl

The Molson provincial senior B baseball championship tournament will be played this weekend at Smallwood Drive Field in Mount Pearl.

The Grand Falls-Windsor Beothucks, St. John's Winmar Capitals, and Mount Pearl Blazers will play a double round- robin format series with the top two teams meeting in the final game 2 p.m. Sunday.

The tournament opens 4 p.m. Friday with a St. John's — Mount Pearl match up. The Beothucks and Blazers follow with a game at 8 p.m.

Games Saturday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. (if necessary)

The winning team will advance to the Molson senior A final against the defending champion Corner Brook Barons on the Aug. 1-3 and Aug. 8-10 weekends in a best-of-seven game series.
