Scott Goosney tossed a two-hitter and fanned five batters over five innings of work to lead Shamrocks to a 7-0 win over Guards in St. John’s Molson senior baseball Wednesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Goosney only allowed just two singles, one to lead-off hitter Dylan Rogers in the first inning and another to Gary Dymond in the second.

Matthew Bannister pitched two innings of relief, striking out four batters.

Matt Kean (6IP, 7R, 8H, 6W, 2K) took the loss.

Centre fielder Mike Pottle, playing in his first game of the season, had three hits in three at-bats for the Shamrocks.

Trevor Clarke added two hits for the winners.
