Barons, Vikings win openers at ESDNL senior tourney

Jaclyn Morgan drove in the winning run and Ben Noseworthy pitched the victory as the Bishops Barons came from behind to defeat the Holy Heart Highlanders 9-8 Wednesday night in the opening game of the sixth annual Eastern School Board District Senior High School Baseball Tournament at Wishingwell Park.

In the other game, David Edwards tossed the win as the Gonzaga Vikings defeated Holy Trinity 5-4.

Games are being played at Wishingwell Park in St. John’s and Stoney Hill diamond in Conception Bay South.

The tournament continues all week with the bronze medal game set for 3 p.m. Sunday and the gold medal game going at 5 p.m. at Wishingwell Park.
