James Locke fanned nine batters and tossed the win as the Holy Trinity Tigers shutout the Booth Memorial Braves 8-0 in the sixth annual Eastern School District High School Baseball Tournament Thursday at Wishingwell Park.
In other games, Tyler Boland fanned five batters to help Gonzaga Vikings defeat Bishops Barons 7-6. Ben Noseworthy took the loss.
In games at Stoney Hill diamond in Conception Bay South, Queen Elizabeth Pioneers defeated Holy Spirit Falcons 9-2 with Cody Butler pitching the win.
Chris Smith tossed the win as Ascension Collegiate Astros defeated Mount Pearl Senior High Huskies 13-2.
The tournament continues today and Saturday with the final set for 5 p.m. Sunday at Wishingwell Park.
