Parsons, Knights rout Storm in senior baseball

First baseman Bob Parsons went four-for-four at the plate and drove in four runs to lead the Metro Property Management Knights to a 12-2, five-inning win over H.J. Bartlett Electric Storm in St. John’s Molson senior baseball Wednesday night at Smallwood Park.

The game was called after five innings on the league’s ten-run mercy rule.

A.J. Whiffen (4IP, 2R, 6H, 2W, 2K) tossed the win with relief help from Matt Sullivan. Adam Lawlor (2IP, 9R, 10H, 1W, 1K) took the loss with Brent Power finishing up.

The Knights broke the game open with seven runs in the second inning.


Shamrocks 4, Holy Cross 2

Bob Kent scattered six hits and fanned four batters as the Trapper John’s Shamrocks defeated the Holy Cross Trinity Pub Crusaders.

Matt Murphy pitched two innings to pick up the save.

Mike Janes (4IP, 5H, 3R, 2W, 5K) took the loss. Sean Janes (3IP, 3H, 1R, 2W, 1K) finished up.

Scott Stockley had two hits for the winners. Matt Smith had a pair of hits for the losers.
