Says he has no intention of playing at Canadian Olympic Curling Trials

Brad Gushue is going to the Roar of the Rings Canadian Olympic Curling Trials after all, but as the fifth man for Kevin Martin’s reigning Olympic champions.

Gushue said he has no intentions of playing at the Trials, which open Dec. 1 in Winnipeg. Instead, he will be there in a support role for Martin’s team, which includes Dave Nedohin throwing third stones and front end Ben Hebert and Marc Kennedy.

“I told Kevin I’ll help out wherever possible,” Gushue said. “I have no intention or will to play.”

Gushue and his Bally Haly Country Club team of third Brett Gallant, second Adam Casey and lead Geoff Walker was knocked out of the Pre-Trials in Kitchener, Ont. Sunday night with 7-5 loss to reigning Tim Hortons Brier champ Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Jacobs and John Morris, Martin’s former third, emerged from the Pre-Trials to play in the Trials.

Brad Gushue is totally for HIMSELF. He certainly is no longer concerned about bringing the Gold back to HIS Home Province. He didn't even do that the first time; Russ Howard did that. What a joke; does he think people are that gullible and stupid to believe that he has no intentions or will to play while with Kevin Martin's team. One of the team members will suddenly get sick, or an emergency will arise, whatever, and Brad will play; No Doubt About That. A stab in the back for another bunch of his "team" members. There is only a Team of One, where Brad Gushue is concerned.

I'd love to see Brad play with Kevin Martin. Maybe one of Kevin's teammates gets the 3-day flu. He should have got his flu shot. lol. Were never going to get rid of the name Newfie so I'm not going to let it bother me.
