A couple of wins this week have put Mark Nossworthy’s rink alone on top of the standings in Re/Max Superleague curling.

Noseworthy won twice Wednesday night at the Re/Max Centre (St. John’s Curling Club), downing Stephen Trickett 7-6 in a make-up of a game postponed earlier in the season and Geoff Cunnigham 7-5 in regular Draw 14 action.

The results give Noseworthy and Co. a 9-3 record, putting them just ahead of Jeff Thomas (8-3), who played one game Wednesday, easily downing Ken Peddigrew 9-1.

Noseworthy might have found himself behind Thomas and tied with Andrew Symonds (8-4) had it not been a score of three points in the final end of the game agains Trickett, the provincial junior men’s champion.
