Eight individuals from Newfoundland and Labrador were honoured today for their contribution to the care and well-being of veterans.
Fred Alteen and Eileen Powell of Corner Brook; Raymond Cole and James Molloy of Grand Falls-Windsor; Joyce Samms of Port aux Basques; William Titford from Spaniard's Bay; and the late Frank Wall from St. John's, were all recipients of the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendations at a ceremony in St. John's.
David Wall accepted on behalf of his late father, Frank, who passed away this spring.
Nominations for the commendation may be submitted by the public at any time and are reviewed annually by an advisory committee. More information can be found at www.vac-acc.gc.ca
