The public is invited to attend information sessions being held for the proposed Lower Churchill Hydroelectric Generation Project.

The Secretariat for the Joint Panel appointed to review the proposed project invites members of the public to attend information sessions in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The sessions are expected to give aboriginal groups, the public, governments and other interested parties an opportunity to hear about how the panel review will proceed and how they can participate.

Federal and provincial representatives will be making presentations and answer questions. The panel will not be present at these sessions.

The dates and locations of the information sessions are as follows:
May 11 and May 12 in Goose Bay, Hotel North 2, 382 Hamilton River Rd., 7 to 9 p.m.; May 11 in Cartwright, Cartwright Hotel, Route 516, Airstrip Road from 7-9 p.m.; May 12, Rigolet Community Hall from 7-9 p.m.; May 13, Churchill Falls Community Centre from 7-9 p.m.; May 14, Labrador City/Wabush at the Wabush Hotel, 9 Grenfell Dr. from 7-9 p.m.

Sessions in Natuashish, Hopedale, Sheshatshui and St. John's will be held in late May or early June.

To obtain information on the panel review process and be kept informed of the panel's activities, provide a full mailing or e-mail address to either of the panel co-managers.
