Herder Game 4 set to go

Game 4 of the Telegram Herder Memorial Trophy Championship Series between the Clarenville Caribous and the Conception Bay North CeeBee Stars is a little over 30 minutes from puck drop.

The Herd took a 2-1 series lead Friday with a 5-4 Game 3 win over the CeeBees, six-time defending Bud Light Avalon East Senior Hockey League champs.

Prior to tonight's contest, the Avalon East will present its annual awards for regular season competition. Hardware set to be handed out in a pre-game ceremony include those for rookie of the year, top defenceman, top defensive forward, coach of the year, most gentlemanly and effective player, the Max Day goaltenders award, the Ken Nagle sportsmanship and dedication award and of course, the league Most Valuable Player honour.

This year, the top defenceman honour has been renamed in honour of Wade Duggan who lost his life in the Cougar Flight 491 helicopter crash last year.Duggan's parents, Kevin and Mary, will be on hand this evening to present the award.
