Conference of the International Emergency Management Group opens Tuesday in St. Johns

Dianne Whalen, Newfoundland's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Minister Responsible for Emergency Preparedness, will officially open the Spring Conference of the International Emergency Management Group (IEMG) Tuesday in St. John's.
Whalen will provide remarks on behalf of the government.
The IEMG conference brings together representatives from Eastern Canada and the New England States to provide for mutual assistance in managing an emergency or disaster among participating jurisdictions.
The group was created through a resolution of the Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers in 1998.
