The RCMP confirmed this morning the body recovered Saturday from the Churchill River near Happy Valley-Goose Bay was that of Randy Scott Rose - one of three teenagers missing since May 18.
The body was found and recovered by his father who had been looking for his son every day since the boating tragedy occurred.
Randy Scott Rose was 19. He and Roy Sainsbury, 18 and Ryan Russell, 19, went missing after going over Muskrat Falls. The three disappeared after they fell or jumped from their canoe before it reached the falls.
All three were College of the North Atlantic students.
RCMP say the body was discovered just below the second falls.
Officials say the water level in the area is several feet lower than it was during the search immediately after the incident.
Up until now the only evidence of the young men had been a matching pair of sneakers belonging to one of the men and three pieces of their 18-foot aluminum boat found by searchers.
