Clarenville, NL -

The Conception Bay North Ceebee Stars and Clarenville Caribous started the second tied and that's how the second came to a close with scored tied 2-2.

The Caribous scored first with blueliner Fred Earle firing a puck past a screened Freddy Diamond at the 10:37 mark. Diamond made a pair of nice saves prior to the goal, but his teammates weren't able to clear the zone.

The CeeBees nearly got a gimmee a few minutes later when a Jason Picco bounce pass off the end boards behind Clarenville netminder Jason Churchill took a funny bounce trickling to the goaltender's skates.

At the 17:23 mark, Matthew Thomey sprang Mark Tobin and Chris Sparkes on a two on one. Tobin made the pass to Sparkes whose shot was stopped only to have the rebound end up on Tobin's stick and then under Churchill in the 'Caribous' net to tie the game again.

Shots were 15-8 in favour of the CeeBees in the second, 27-18 over 40 minutes.

Caribous took a pair of minors in the middle frame; Andrew Hill went off for slashing and Richard Paul went for unsportsmanlike conduct when he and Shane Gamberg engaged in some on-ice banter following Tobin's marker. The CeeBees went unpenalized through the second period.
