CeeBees open scoring but Herd scores three unanswered

The Clarenville Caribous lead Game 5 of the Telegram Herder Memorial Trophy Championship Series 3-2 after the first 20 minutes at Mile One Centre in St. John's.

Shots on goal were 18-13 in favour of the Caribous.

The CeeBees Mark Tobin opened the scoring beating Caribous netminder Jason Churchill with a series of dekes on a breakaway. Chris Sparkes put the CeeBees up 2-0 with a powerplay marker at 12:01.

The Herd were quick to respond with a powerplay goal from Chris Mooney at 13:14, followed by another man advantage goal from Derrick Kent at 15:02.

Clarenville took the lead on a point shot from Jason Picco that beat an obviously frustrated and screened Freddy Diamond in the CeeBees' blue ice.
