Mile One Centre, St. John's, NL -

Just as they did 365 days earlier, the Clarenville Caribous defeated the Conception Bay North CeeBee Stars in Game 5 to win the Herder Memorial Trophy.

The Herd took a 6-2 lead into the final 20 minutes, but the CeeBees' Tom Snow and Mike Dyke brought their team within two with 10 minutes to play in regulation.

Just as the CeeBees were regaining momentum since the early part of the first period, Caribous' forward Ryan Lauzon spun around a C.B.N. defender and fed Chris Mooney for the squad's seventh goal of the game. It was Lauzon's sixth point of the night, earning him Herder most valuable player honours.

Shots in the final frame were 16-7 for the CeeBees, but finished at 43-33 for the Caribous.
