Caribous can clinch title with win over CeeBees

Action is just underway in Game 5 of the Telegram Herder Memorial Trophy Championship Series between the Clarenville Caribous and Conception Bay North CeeBee Stars at Mile One Centre in St. John's.

The Caribous opened this year's championship rematch with a 4-2 win over the CeeBees at the Clarenville Events Centre last Saturday but gave up a 4-1 win to the crowd from Conception Bay in Sunday's Game 2.

Clarenville took a two game lead in the series with a pair of wins this weekend. Friday, the Herd collected a 5-4 win and Saturday Brad Crann potted his first of the series in double overtime for a 4-3 win.

Both teams have struggled on the powerplay at Mile One with a mere two goals on 29 combined chances.

Prior to Game 5, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles forward Luke Adam was honoured by Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador with fans at Mile One giving him a standing ovation.

    remember when Luke Adam played for the Devils and no one would go see them play.God those were the days
