The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts have a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes in Game 1 of the Telegram Herder Memorial Championship Series.

The Cats opened the second with a goal one minute and fifteen seconds in from Matt Quinn. First period scorer Cody Roach was sprung on a break, but the CeeBees' Mike Stevens broke up the play cleanly. Roach corralled the loose puck and fired it to Quinn who easily chipped it past Freddy Diamond.

The CeeBees, on their third powerplay, got on the board when Chris Sparkes completed a sweet tic-tac-toe goal. Wadden down low to Keith Delaney across the crease to Sparkes.

Shots are were 8-6 for the Cats. They are outshooting the CeeBees 20-12 through two periods.

The CeeBees will start the third on the man advantage for 50 seconds with Roach serving a minor for high sticking.
