Fresh off a three-goal performance in the St. John's IceCaps' 8-4 win over the Connecticut Whale Saturday night at Mile One Centre, IceCaps' captain Jason Jaffray has been recalled to the parent Winnipeg Jets.

As well, defenceman Arturs Kulda has been recalled to Winnipeg, while rearguard Paul Posfma is being returned to St. John's.

Jaffray has seven goals, five assists, nine penalty minutes and a plus-five rating in 15 games with AHL-leading St. John's. Kulda has two goals, four assists, 12 penalty minutes and a plus-nine rating in 13 games.

It was first thought Jaffray's recall meant forward Kenndal McArdle, who has already cleared waivers, might be assigned by the Jets to St. John's, but there has been no word of this transaction yet.

Kulda's recall is tied to an injury defenceman Brett Festerling suffered

In a collision with teammate Jim Slater prior to Winnipeg's 2-1 loss to Columbus Saturday, establishing the need for a left-handed shooting defenceman, which Kulda is. Postma shoots right.
