Good evening from Mile One Centre in St. John's, where the AHL-leading St. John's IceCaps (11-2-3) take on the Norfolk Admirals (9-6-1) in the first game of a two-game series that concludes Saturday night.

Eddie Pasquale gets the start in goal for St. John's, which has won six straight games. Pasquale, coincidentally, is 6-0 on the season, with five of his wins coming during the team's winning streak.

Defenceman Paul Postma, who arrived in St. John's Saturday after being assigned by the Winnipeg Jets, will play for the IceCaps tonight. St. John's scratches include blueliner Jake Marto and forwards Kevin Clark and Jason Gregoire, both injured.Forward Kenndal McArdle has also been assigned to the Caps, but has yet to arrive in St. John's. He may play Saturday.

The Admirals are very much the same team that played three-pre-season games against the IceCaps in Newfoundland seven weeks ago, but are missing veterans Michel Ouellet, Richard Petiot and Alexander Picard with injuries.

Jaroslav Janus gets the start in the goal for the Admirals, the farm team of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
