Good evening from Mile One Centre, where the St. John's IceCaps and Providence Bruins are underway.

The IceCaps will be missing more than a few players. Defenceman Derek Meech (knee) and forward Jason Gregoire (shoulder) are out with long-term injuries, Marco Rosa (concussion) hasn't even resumed skating and forwards Jason Jaffray, John Albert and Patrice Cormier are day-to-day in the infirmary.

Forwards Aaron Gagnon and defenceman Mark Flood remain on recall to the parent Winnipeg Jets, and although the Jets have returned forward Spencer Machacek to the IceCaps, he won't be in St. John's until Wednesday.

Eddie Pasquale getting the start in goal for the IceCaps (28-12-6), while Anton Khodubin is between the pipes for Providence (22-20-5).
