Veteran forward Jason King has been named the St. John's IceCaps' IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his contributions to the St. John’s community during the 2011-12 season. King is one of 30 finalists for the AHL’s 2011-12 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League in the coming weeks.

Way to go Jason : ) If there is anybody that deserves an award its you. I'm so glad to see that you came home to play hockey in your home province. Good luck to you and the rest of the Icecaps in the Calder Cup playoffs.
