After a passionately contested 60 minutes of hockey, the St. John's IceCaps and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are heading into overtime for the second day in a row.

Goals from Colin McDonald and Eric Tangradi on the Penguins' first two shots of the game had Wilkes-Barre up 2-0 before the first period was seven minutes old, but the IceCaps stiffened and knotted the score in the  second on goals by Derek Meech — on a power-play — and Maxime Macenauer.

Both teams had great chances in the third, but nothing more. So we're headed to extra time, with the IceCaps looking to do what they did Saturday, when they won 2-1 in OT to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal.

Shots on goal are 25-16 for St. John's, which is a pretty fair indication of the edge in play, but there hasn't been too much to choose between the two teams. One thing is for certain, this has been the best game of the series so far.
