For a third straight playoff game at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the St. John's IceCaps snd the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are into overtime, but for the first time, we're into double OT.

It's 2-2 after 80 minutes in Game 5 of the AHL Eastern Conference semifinal. The IceCaps won Saturday and Sunday's games at the Mohegan Sun Arena in extra time by scores of 2-1 and 3-2 to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

There was great effort, great action in the first Ot tonight, but no goals.

Paul Postma's power-play goal at 4:00 of the third period tied the game at 2-2 for the IceCaps after Alex Grant had put Wilkes-Barre in front for the first time less than two minutes earlier.

Paul Thompson of the Penguins had the only goal of the middle frame, taking advantage of a turnover in the IceCaps zone and flring a shot by Eddie Pasquale, caught dead to rights. No chance for the St. John's netminder.

Jason King had the IceCaps' goal back in the first period on a 140-foot slow slider into the Penguins' zone that goalie Brad Thiessen whiffed on.

Shots on goal are 40-27 overall for the home side.

Both teams have had three power plays, with Postma getting the only man-advantage goal.
