Paul Thompson of the Penguins had the only goal of the middle frame, taking advantage of a turnover in the IceCaps zone and flring a shot by Eddie Pasquale, caught dead to rights. No chance for the St. John's netminder.
Jason King had the IceCaps' goal back in the first period on a 140-foot slow slider into the Penguins' zone that goalie Brad Thiessen whiffed on.
