A power-play goal by Eric O'Dell provided the only scoring and the St. John's IceCaps got shutout goaltending from Eddie Pasquale as they blanked the American Hockey League-leading Binghamton Senators 1-0 Saturday night at Mile One Centre.

Combined with their 4-2 win over the Senators Friday at Mile One, it marks the first time this season that the IceCaps have won both ends of a two-game series against a visiting opponent.

O'Dell got his team-leading 12th goal at 11:38 of the second period with the IceCaps on the power-play and enjoying an extra attacker as the result of a delayed penalty call against Binghamton.

Eddie Pasquale, who backstopped the IceCaps to victory on Friday, made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season. The Senators' Robin Lehner faced 30 shots.

Binghamton (27-12-4) began Saturday first in the Eastern Conference and with the best winning/points percentage in the entire AHL, but the loss drops the Senators two points arrears of the Springfield Falcons, who beat the Connecticut Whale 3-2.

St. John's (21-22-3) now sits 11th in the Eastern Conference, but just one point behind three teams tied for eighth place and the last playoff berth. One of those teams is the Worcester Sharks, who will provide the opposition Tuesday and Wednesday as the IceCaps continue what will be a six-game homestand.

Was a bit of a snoozer at the rink I heard, but it was a nailbiter in the shed. Great Game, Big Win!
