IcePak take two from Maple Leafs in provincial major midget play

The Central IcePak won a pair of Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League games against the St. John’s Maple Leafs at Rogers Bussey Arena over the weekend.

The St. John’s Maple Leafs’ Ian Gamba checks the Central IcePak’s Kyle Champion into the boards during the teams’ game Saturday at Rogers Bussey Arena. The IcePak took both games of the two-game set.

Michael Mason, Mitchell Lewis, Adam Dawe, Jordan Freake and Nick Callahan each scored once for the IcePak as they claimed a 5-4 win Sunday.

Andrew Barron, Andrew Paul, Grant Thompson and Bobby Upshall had the goals for the Maple Leafs. Adam Caines assisted on two goals

IcePak goalie Curtis Barrett got the win. Brandon Short was in net for the Leafs.

IcePak 4, Maple Leafs 2 (Saturday)

Mason scored twice to pace the IcePak. Nick Fitzgerald, and Jordan Maher had one goal each.

Adam Caines and Blake Fudge scored for the Leafs.

Central goaltender Noah Weir picked up the win with Redmond Hunt taking the loss.
