Breakers bounce Caps, advance to St. John’s junior circuit final

The Southern Shore C&W Offshore Breakers earned a berth in the Penny Kia St. John’s Junior Hockey League final Wednesday night by defeating the St. John’s Hickman Automotive Group Caps 3-0 in Game 5 at Twin Rinks.
The Breakers took the best-of-seven semifinal 4-1.

Jordan Carter, Manise Kendall and Mitchell Martin each scored once and Josh Carey posted the shutout.

Scott Bray of the Caps and Peter Kavanagh of the Breakers were chosen the Jungle Jim’s players of the game.

The Breakers will now meet the winner of the other semifinal between Avalon Roebothan McKay Marshall Capitals and CBR Assante Wealth Management Renegades for the league championship.

The Renegades lead the series 3-2.

Game 6 in that series is scheduled for seven o’clock Friday night at Robert French Memorial Stadium in Kelligrews.
