Marlies win, force Game 7 in AHL Western Conference final

Carter Ashton scored two goals and Drew McIntyre made 36 saves as the Toronto Marlies downed the Texas Stars 3-1 Monday night in Cedar Park, Tex., forcing a seventh and deciding game in their American Hockey League Western Confrrence final.

Game 7 is tonight in Cedar Park, a suburb of Austin.

Trevor Smith had the other goal for the Marlies, who outshot the Stars 37-25. Curtis McKenzie had the lone tally for Texas.

The winner of the Western final will play either the St. John's IceCaps or Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins fof the Calder Cup.
