Katarina Roxon won four medals as part of Team Canada in the Para Pan Am Games held recently in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.

The 14-year-old from Kippens, the youngest on Team Canada and one of the youngest athletes in the entire Para Pan Am Games, won gold in the 4x100-metre relay medley, and silver in the 100-mete breaststroke and 200-metre individual medley. She also claimed a bronze medal in the 50-metre freestyle. She placed sixth in the100-metre butterfly.

Roxon had personal best times in every event except the 100-metre breaststroke.

When Roxon returns home she will change her training program and ramp it up to start on the Olympic-year plan.

She already has Paralympics qualifying times in two events in swimming. Her short term goals are to achieve Paralympics qualifying times for at least four out of the seven swimming events in her category.
