St. John's native Teddy Purcell will play his first NHL game tonight when his Los Angles Kings take on Edmonton Oilers in Edmonton.
Purcell, 23, had a team-high 53 points with AHL Manchester Monarchs before being called up to the NHL club today.
The right winger expects to skate on a line with left winger Kyle Calder and centre Michal Handzus.
"Hopefully, I'll make the best of the opportunity," Purcell told The Telegram.
