Rock makes history
Rain, drizzle, fog. The visiting Calgary Mavericks didn't stand a chance.
Newfoundland Rock made provincial rugby history Saturday with a convincing 30-6 win over the Calgary Mavericks to capture the 2008 Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL) championship in St. John's.
The third national championship win for The Rock is the most in provincial sports history and that fact was not lost on Rock coach Pat Parfrey, who was beaming after posing for a historic team photo. The Rock's previous national titles came in 2005 and 2006.

You mean to tell me that the Rock won a National Championship by going 6 - 0 for the season. To me, this just deflates the notion of being National Champion. If you listen to Pat Pafrey, you think this crowd of thugs played 40 or 50 games to win the Nationals.
