Pedestrian struck by car in overnight accident

Police in St. John's are investigating an overnight car accident on LeMarchant Road.
Officers say around 8 p.m. a man stepped out onto the road in the area of Caul's Funeral Home and was hit by an oncoming car.
The man was taken to St. Clare's Hospital and admitted to be treated for undetermined injuries.
There was considerable damage to the car, police say.
Officers stayed on the scene until after 10:30 p.m.
