Snow, wind causing some power outages

Newfoundland Power reports they working to repair power outages in various parts of the St. John's area due to today's storm.
The power is currently out at: Waterford Bridge Road, Bay Bulls Road, Old Petty Harbour Road, Kilbride Road, Pearl Town Road, The Boulevard, Torbay Road, and Bally Hally Estates. Power is expected to be restored in these areas early this afternoon.
Other parts of the province without power due to weather conditions currently are: Travers Brook in central Newfoundland, Island Cove and Lark Harbour in the Corner Brook area, and Codroy, Codroy Valley, and St. Andrews. Estimated time of restored power is early this afternoon.
According to Environment Canada, the forecast for today remains: snow at times heavy and local blowing snow changing to rain showers or drizzle this afternoon. Risk of freezing rain this afternoon. Snowfall amount 10 cm. Rainfall amount 2 to 4 mm. Wind southeast 40 km/h gusting to 60 except gusting to 90 along parts of the coast. High plus 1.
Schools have been closed across much of the province and a number of events cancelled. Roads are reported to be slippery and treacherous in areas.
