A 32-year-old Harbour Breton man was airlifted to a St. John's hospital after being injured while helping a friend retrieve his snowmobile from a steep shoreline cliff about 1:30 a.m. today.
The RCMP says the snowmobile had gone down a steep, 200-foot embankment at a location along the shoreline of he Connaigre Head-Wild Cove area.
While the two men were trying to recover the snowmobile, it rolled back over the 32-year-old man causing injuries.
The 103 Rescue Squadron from Gander assisted in removing the man from the area and transported him to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's. The extent of the injuries is not known at the time of this posting.
