Senior mens basketball championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold the Molson Division III Men's Provincial Championships this weekend at Carbonear Collegiate in Carbonear.
Last season this event was renamed the Paul Whittle Memorial in honour of the late individual who served as an executive member of the St. John's men's league for more than 25 years.
Teams entered in the competition include: host Coastal Marine and Recreation; Grand Falls-Windsor, Budweiser of the U23 Men's league; Monarchs from Mobile; Roebothan, Mckay and Marshall; and Thunder of the St. John's Men's League, along with Fongs and the Sentinels from the CBN League.
Play will commence at 3:30 p.m. today and conclude with the championship game slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.
