    To At Work from St Johns:

    I actually work in St. John's. There was no negativity meant in my statement. Just stating the fact that people from rural nl do work...not everyone works on weekends. How many people do you know get up to look for work on Sunday Morning? I don't know about where your from but where i'm from not a lot of places are open on Sunday...or if they are they are not open early in the AM.

    Sorry Cole, but some of us work seven days a week. Must be nice to have time off. You must make better wages where you are. We in Newfoundland need to work seven days a week just to eat.

    Ah yes, the eternal battle of Townie vs. Baymen.

    This battle is right up with such epic wars as,

    Dogs vs. Cats

    Montagues vs. Capulets

    Wrestlemania 3

    Coke vs. Pepsi

    Star Wars vs. Star Trek

    Blonde vs. Brunette

    Silicone vs. Natural

    Danny Williams vs. The World

    Sarah Palin vs. Common Sense

    Paris Hilton vs. Intelligence, Integrity, Virginitiy, Good taste, Women's rights

    Bottom line, these battles will never end. So my advice is to just sit back and enjoy the ride!

    Nuff Said.

    (b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose;

    Guess they need to fix this act since it does not pertain to females (he) seem to have the masculine use, not feminine.

    Get a good lawyer now, and charges tossed if they try to use that example.

    For those who seem to want to comment negatively about rural NL and the thought that none of these people would be up in the am to look for a job, should actually look at the article and READ it...it says the altercation was early SUNDAY morning...not a ton of job searching can be done on Sunday!

    W Bag, nice. Have you ever been outside the overpass? Maybe you should take a trip to see how hard these people actually work. They don't sit around typing responses to articles like you and I.

    Weren't we all just told in a recent Telegram article and ad campaign about how most violence against women is perpetrated by men and that father's need to take responsibility in teaching their sons to behave appropriately ?

    'Kathy Dunderdale, the minister responsible for the Status of Women, said at todays launch that the campaign was designed to show positive messages asking men to be responsible for teaching their sons that violence against women is wrong.'

    Sure the assault would have BEEN the blow to the stomach, yes?

    265. (1) A person commits an assault when

    (a) without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly;

    (b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose; or

    (c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs.

    Just another school night in rural NFLD. No wonder there is such unemployment outside the overpass, I don't think any of those ladies were getting up early this mourn to look for a job.

    I've lived in both rural and urban NL, and I think these are all pretty harsh generalizations. Not everyone in rural NL is lazy, and not everyone in urban NL is bored at work and surfing the internet. Play nice, children.
