The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is warning St. John's residents to be on the lookout for a moose that may have been injured after being hit by a car Friday morning.
The accident happened around 9 a.m., near the intersection of Fox Avenue and Higgins Line.
"We're looking for (the moose) up there now, but we recommend - because the moose is injured, he is a wild animal … stay away from the moose until we can locate it and deal with it," RNC Const. Paul Davis said.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the moose was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Davis indicated.
