Einstein if you think that curling is not an legitimate sport think again and ask actual curlers about the various injuries that they suffer as the result of curling. Better yet why don't you give Mark, Brad, and Jamie a call and ask what it takes to get in shape for the curling season and all of the time that they spend in the gym working out to get up to the elite level?

As for Cleary congratulations to him and while we are at it what about a big shout out to Ryane Clowe for signing his big NHL contract with the Sharks?

Just to get invited to a camp is encouraging for our native Cleary, sure would love to see him make it, if nothing else but to show the younger generations that there is life beyond the rock, as one comment above said hard work and determination gets noticed, well the proof is in the player.

    GO DANNY C GO!!!!!!!

Have you noticed that Babcock always has Cleary out there during the final minutes of any close game. It is this confidence that Babcock has ion Cleary that will see him selected to the Team Canada rooster.

Shake and Bake...They won't rename Team Gushue Highway, but Harbour Grace will be called Clearyville!

There's a lot of great players invited to Team Canada camp, but I hope to see Danny make it. Team Canada needs a different style this time, and Danny's hardworking style is much needed. Anything less than Gold will be a failure.

I think they should declare a holiday in February and call it Olympic Family day in honor of Team Gushue.

Congrats to Dan. Finally something to be proud of. Hopefully we can get some REAL Olympic gold for Newfoundland. They should definitely rename the team gushue highway. They could call it something like The Danway or Curling Sucks Road . I hear they make the curling medals out of recycled aluminum. Recreational sports don't belong in the Olympics, they belong in bars and/or old age homes.

    Congratulations Danny.

I have to admit he's probably fortunate that he plays for the Wings and Yzerman is the GM. But life is about lucky breaks sometimes, and I wish him the best.

He'll be hard pressed to make the team though - what an amazing collection of forwards invited to camp.

If you think Danny Cleary doesn't have a role to play on Team Canada then you don't understand the role of a character player on these teams. Its not any differant then a Maltby or Draper presence.

Danny plays a hard game that can translate into a great olympic 4th line role. Great forechecker with the ability to produce and will cause a headache for the stars of other olympic teams.

I'd still be surprised if he made the team, but I dont think they are at all crazy for considering him as a potential piece.

Great to see Cleary's hard work rewarded. He was a big part of my Wings getting back to the Stanley Cup Final this year and although they came up short, Danny played some of the best hockey of his life during those two months. It seemed like every goal he scored was a big one.

I hope he does get picked for the Olympics, and while some may consider him a long shot, they are going to need his energy out there. He never takes a shift off and is one of the hardest working guys in the league. Just to get picked for the camp is an honour, but I for one will be ecstatic if he makes the squad! Good luck Danny!

Congratulations...Danny...You have lived up to our expectations and then some. We lived the ULTIMATE Dream last year, through your hard work and determination. Now you worked hard again and so deserve this invitation. I am sure you will give it everything you have and that is all is expected of you. Who know??? Maybe we will have a second Olympic Gold Medalist in Hr. Grace...GO DANNY GO!

Congrats. I think he'll be a long shot, there are a lot of great gritty energy guys there. But I think he legitimately deserved the invite and would be a valuable part of the team.

Hard work helped him turn his career around and hopefully he can crack this line-up. In his specific role with the Red Wings he is one of the best in the league I think.

Canada is going to have a great shot at gold next year. Amazing line-up.

These are Professional Sport players, to me i think this should not be allowed at all, it should be like boxing for example, once you become a professional your not allowed to box in the olymics. Talk about taking an advange if you win and an embarassment to the sport if you lose, so much for your million dollar salary.
