Newfoundland adventurer and university professor TA Loeffler made it to the summit of the tallest mountain in Europe today, a climb which she dedicated to raising awareness of prostate cancer.
Climbing Russia's Mount Elbrus is part of Loeffler's larger goal of tackling the "seven summits" - the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents. Later this year she hopes to climb Kosciuszko in Australia and Vinson in Antarctica.
Loeffler has written a book - "More Than a Mountain" - about her experience climbing Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.
She's expected back in St. John's some time next week.
When she's not climbing or teaching, Loeffler uses her experiences mountain climbing in speaking engagements, and has delivered her message of "big dreams, big goals" to more than 10,000 youths in the province.
