The woman rescued from a submerged car Tuesday was still in the Health Sciences Centre last night, according to an update from the RCMP.
Police reported just after 8:30 p.m. she was intensive care and being monitored because of the saltwater content of the pond near Biscay Bay.
The car she was driving plunged into the body of water around 9:30 a.m. after she swerved on Route 10 to avoid striking an ATV that was crossing the road.
She lost control, left the road and landed in a pond.
The vehicle became submerged.
A female passenger managed to get out, but the driver became trapped.
A Quebec couple came upon on the scene, freed her and helped her ashore.
The woman was unconscious and CPR was administered by an ambulance crew and a local doctor.
She was revived and taken to hospital via air ambulance.
