Sarah Tremblett and Nadine Rockwood, both of St. John's, are set to swim the 1,500-metre event for Newfoundland and Labrador, while the province's 800-metre male swimmers are Owen Daly, also of St. John's, and Nicholas Hogan of Steady Brook.

At the Games track and field facility, also on the UPEI campus, there will be heats in a number of running, throwing and jumping events, with finals in the 100 metres and 5,000 metres.

Competition for Newfoundland also begins in a number of team sports (all at UPEI unless otherwise indicated; all times NT):

Baseball, versus Quebec at Stratford, P.E.I. (1:30 p.m.)

Men's soccer, versus New Brunswick (5:30 p.m.)

Female volleyball, versus British Columbia (5:30 p.m.)

Male volleyball, versus Saskatchewan (12:30 p.m.) and Quebec (6:30 p.m.)

There is no competition today - just practice sessions - in female wrestling, being held in Montague, P.E.I., and golf, which will be played on the Brudenell River course in Rosneath.

It should be noted, there could be alterations in some schedules, as a number of teams and delegations are said to be looking for make-up practice sessions that were cancelled because of Hurricane Bill on Sunday.
