The Newfoundland and Labrador Shooting Association will host the first Atlantic regional air gun championship in 10-metre ISSF Air Rifle and Air Pistol this weekend
The event will take place at the Frank Zahn High Performance Marksmanship and CSCA Training Centre, School of Human Kinetics and Recreation, Room PE-1002.
Teams of Canada Games hopeful shooters from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, will shoot two relays of ISSF air rifle and air pistol.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., the top four shooters after the qualifying round - in men's air pistol, women's air rifle and men's air rifle - will shoot a 10 shot finals where shots are scored to the nearest 10th of a point.
For Newfoundland and Labrador junior athletes, this event does count towards selection for the Canada Games Team 2010-11.
This is the first time in nearly 30 years that an Atlantic regional championship has been held in the Olympic shooting sport.
