Government provides funding for recreation infrastructure

Two recreational facilities on the Burin Peninsula are getting substantial infrastructure upgrades, with the help of $150,409 in funding from the provincial government.
Tourism Minister Terry French announced today that Grand Bank is receiving $85,468 to help with exterior renovations (roof and siding) at the community's swimming pool and soccer facility, while the Fortune will receive $64,941 to assist with the installation of two new dehumidifiers, new exit doors, protective floor matting, and new lighting in the Fortune Arena.
The Town of Grand Bank is contributing an additional $15,082 to its infrastructure projects, while the Town of Fortune will provide $11,459 for the Fortune Arena project.

    What a complete waste of money. These people get money to make things look nice and we have to walk in the middle of roads. Something wrong with that picture. Our safety is more important then a few people who use a swimming pool or soccer arena.
