The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said today it has completed an internal review of an accidental gun discharge that occurred inside its St. John's headquarters Saturday evening.
A single round was accidentally discharged from a firearm during an unloading procedure. The round impacted the floor and embedded in a wall. There were no injuries.
The RNC says the loading and unloading of firearms, as well as live-fire training exercises, occur everyday within RNC headquarters. Incidents of this nature are very rare.
